I have a Sony digital Handycam (tape) CCD TRV128, I want to upload a home video to my notebook, need to know how and what cable I need.
Answers:
You are going to need a video appropriation card that takes S-Video or A/V cable (the one beside the yellow, red, and white plugs). You can catch one of those dazzle adapters that will plug into a USB port. But you will get a better competence with a video card. Consult your PC support site. I've included a knit for your camcorder support site below. It has an article surrounded by detail on what you need to do. I suggest you read it over. Good luck!! CCD TRV128 analog video have to be converted to digital before it can be uploaded & edited contained by a pc.
To convert, an analog video appropriation device, e.g. Dazzle or tv card, is needed to be connected between the vcam and pc. Can't retract if a digi-8 vcam played a hi-8 tape ... might also be an selection.
When connected (firewire from capture device to notebook?), try to upload to pc thru (free) window XP or Vista movie maker, an entry video editing app. (start/all programs/wmm)
..Step 1. Capture/Import video files (+pics, music) to be edited
..Step 2. Edit- drag/drop files->timeline & enhance w/effects, transition, music & titles
..Step 3. Finish (render)- store Movie file, also retrieve Project* file
..Step 4. Share-burn to disc (to DvD thru a DvD authoring app)
