Is it possible to gain free digital to my notebook.if so how?

What kind of notebook is it? I think you're referring to Freeview Digital contained by the UK? If so you can do it by taking the output from the Freeview box and taking it into the PC instead of (as well as) the TV. To do that you'll call for an analogue TV capture card and you'll be stuck next to recording what you're watching simply probably. You'll have to sort out cable too...depending on what connections you have on the box, but converting from Scart to RCA (phono) connectors is no problem. Basically you'll be using your PC as a TV. If you hold problems with the connectors, try putting the VCR surrounded by the line as they own multiple connection ports in general and take the scart out from near to the TV. I did it for my mother to record a program to her laptop and it be fine.
