Firewire problem? when i connect my firewire(4pin to 4pin)to my camera(panasonic
when i connect my firewire(4pin to 4pin)to my camera(panasonic pv-gs39) he computer (sony vaio)does not recognize anything. what should i do?
Answers:
You're right, pv-gs39 is a miniDV vcam w/c must be firewire-connected to ur vaio to upload video. But upload is thru video seizure or video editing* application (while vcam is on playback).
for starters, free Windows Movie Maker* (XP-wmm2 & Vista-wmm6) provides simple & easy means of access to learn the ropes < click back for details>. Upgrade to other video editing app ( http://video-editing-software-review.top... ) accdg. to need & skill height
Video Editing Process
>>>>open wmm- start/all programs/wmm
..Step 1. Capture/Import video files (+pics, music) to be edited
..Step 2. Edit- drag/drop files->timeline & enhance w/effects, transition, music & titles
..Step 3. Finish (render)- retrieve Movie file, also accumulate Project* file
..Step 4. Share-burn to compact disc (to DvD thru a DvD authoring app)
Have you downloaded a updated driver for your camera from Panasonic?? 4 pin to 4 pin?
IF you enjoy a firewire port in the vaio next it should be a larger 6 pin. i've never heard of a 4 pin computer port for fw.
it's possible that your contraption doesn't have one.
but obsession not! if it has an express card later you can buy an adapter to change it into a fw400 port if you so desire.
