PC (I prefer macs, but the Vegas editing software is not available for Mac) Quad core, 3 gigs ram,100 see operating drive, 500 gig video drive. (Never transcription video onto the same drive as your editing software.)
Sony hvr-hd1000u: it's not a handycam but it will donate you more stability being a shoulder mount camera. More stability = better video. It also take very honest still images and uses sony memory sticks.
Sony vegas pro 8: it is a jack of adjectives trades editing program, incorporating effects and audio into a simple to use editing program. It's also a lot smaller quantity expensive than many other professional apps.
Buy a obedient tripod, a couple of extra batteries and if you can afford it, some well-mannered audio equipment.
This whole collection comes in lower than $4500. This is a professional kit. You could bring in decent money near this equipment.
