Any comfort on the Everio GZ-MG505??

We're getting a "communicating error" between the battery and the camera. Ugh!
Battery is fully charged for sure, but zilch is working out.
I've checked the manual/trouble-shooter, but can't find anything.
Any help/ideas greatly appreciated!!
