i need a professional similar to wire that you would see folks on tv using-that you clip to your shirt and can be used with a camera- answer beside results gets 10 points-please! i really call for to know
Answers:

ebay The clip-on mics are called "Lavaliere" mics.

They come surrounded by two versions - wired and wireless.

The wired unit are kind of a torment because of the wire... so most folks travel for the wireless ones. They are not cheap.

UHF is best. VHF is OK. In either travel case, "full diversity" will keep interference to a minimum. the 900 MHz and 2.4GHz unit are in the "ISM" strip - this area of radio spectrum is shared beside garage door openers, Wifi networks (those not in 5.8GHz) and cordless home phones. Chances you will acquire interference are high.

Does your camcorder hold a Mic-in jack? Most do not.

In any case...

Sennheiser:

If you camcorder have a 1/8" mic-in jack, this is the easiest to connect because the body-pack uses a 1/8" jack, too.

More commonly, Shure:

This system is handy because it comes with a handlheld and the clip-on mics.

You can shift for wired, but the length of the flex will be limiting the distance from the camcorder - and an extension can introduce audio interference

You can also get this at Radio Shack - same price. The cable is 20 foot long. This means the camcorder can be more or less 12 feet away because of the stage of the person speaking (sitting - roughly speaking 4 feet) + the height of the camcorder on a tripod (about 4 feet)...

I cannot recommend Samson or Nady...
