Adam have answered your direct question, but I would incorporate that simply changing the extension does not convert the database to a different the file type; it lone changes its heading! In the folder where your folder is click
Tools > Folder Options
Then the View tab at the top
Then uncheck "Hide extensions for known profile types"
Then rename the file from 100_0673.MOV to another extension.
Examples:
100_0673.avi
100_0673.3gp
100_0673.mpeg
