My computer doesn't have a firewire so i get an adapter so my camera can plug into the usb port. but when i plug it in, a glass pops up saying it doesn't endorse it. i've unplugged and plugged it in a million times. what do i do?
Answers:

Download the latest drivers for your camera, consequently reload it on your system.

Contact tech support for the camera and ask if there is some foundation that you are unable to use the USB port since you do not hold a firewire port on your system.

Pray. Return that adapter for a firewire port. Obviously, the adapter you get is not working.

You will also involve a firewire cable. You will connect the 4-pin side of the cable to the camcorder's DV port... and if you get a 4-pin or 6-pin firewire port for your computer will resolve whether the other side of the firewire cable should be 4-pin or 6-pin.
