Hey raghu,
Yes you need to own a capture device contained by order to introduction the video footage. you must also have a editing software to repress. You can get ether an external or internal invasion card. check out my web guide for more tips in the region of capture cards
with your camcorder in that shouldve been a disc with software.

install it and read up on how to verbs the video to your computer I presume you be set to MiniDV.

You need to enjoy a working firewire port on your computer.

You will connect the DV port on the camcorder to the firewire port on the computer with the firewire cable.

Which firewire cable you use will depend on the firewire port on your computer. The DV port on the camera is other 4-pin. The firewire port on your computer can be either 4-pin or 6 pin.

Firewire, 1EEE1394a and i.Link are adjectives the same entry. Once you get the firewire port working on your computer, no other camera-specific drivers are required.

USB will be used ONLY for transferring stills from the memory card or for webstreaming - ONLY if your camera supports any of these features... and instructions will be in the camcorder almanac.
