Windows movie maker shows video,but cannot seize sound to work no situation what I do.I am using a HP m7560n computer with medium center and Hauppauge WinTV PCI II 26xxx Capture card.I tried using firewire hooked up to my camcorder but windows XP did not see it.

is it possible to draw from a video capture card? they are not expensive and you can any connect threw rca or s-video.
i know USB is crap when it comes to importing video and firewire is the opening to go.
but if you can find one of those video appropriation cards or read up about the introduction qaulity that would work.
EDIT: Sorry didnt understand your request for information at first. check your audio in puts on your computer and see if at hand on and working if that doesnt work try installing either your occupation card again and camera software.
You may need to reinstall the driver for the camera!! Consult the Sony support site for your camcorder model!! you should be capable of use your original hi8 cam to verbs to mini dv or dvd recorder.
don't forget hi8 is analogue and you can use a digital cam to 'digitize' the footage.
