Editing software for rookie Canon HV30 owner?
Just bought my first camcorder (Canon HV30) and was surprised to discover that no editing software be included to allow me to put video footage onto my computer, or burn DVDs. Any recommendations for an enthusiastic tyro?

So i have a panasonic SDR-S10P/PC cam corder. I would resembling to use it to record my video's for youtube instead of my crappy web-cam..the problem is my cam corder comes near its own editing software called "Motion SD Studio"..the point is i have NO CLUE how to use it..i've be using window's movie maker for a while so i would resembling to keep using that (it took me forever to cram it) the problem is once i video tape myself next to my cam corder and try to upload it up using windows movie initiator i can't find the file.Is within anyway to save somewhere else so i can upload it next to WMM or should i just dance buy the 140.00 web cam at best buy...LOL...
Editing VCR format video on an apple to create a DVD?
is that possible? this is a project for school and we film our thing on a camercorder which save it in a VCR cartridge thing. we NEED to do some leading editing because we filmed it surrounded by different parts. the camercorder can be connected to a USB cable but its not getting detected on the apple..is there a software that i involve to download? also the final video needs to be contained by a DVD format. the iVideo format is ok too. or iDVD...whtver its called! we dont HAVE to use a mac but the point is that we have an video editing software on in that and it would be easier...but if you have suggestions for a regular microsoft computer, hit me near em too....the only article with to be precise that we dont have any video editing software on the window...so ur gonna have to relation me to a site to download that too. so any ideas of how to be in motion about doing this...? thankfulness in mortgage. <3 =)
Extend video time, or camera to VCR?
I have a Panasonic Palmcorder Palmsight, I know its pretty old-fashioned but better than nothing. I want to see what is going on at the house while I am at work. My first issue is that the tape for the camcorder are at tops 2 hrs long. Is their a way I can go and get it to only account when it picks up movement? Or a timer I can set for it to record when the boyfriend get home? Also, I want to figure out a agency for it to record straight to a vhs within through the vcr. This would give me a 6 to 8 hour array, or possibly even more to work with. I enjoy tried a couple of things, like CD straight to the vcr with or short a tape within the camcorder, and have so far be unable to seize any of the above to work. I have looked over the encyclopaedia and it really doesn't get into this type of item - it just give general use, etc. If anyone can aid me with this I would greatly appreciate it! Maybe I missing a detail or something. THANKS!

IĄ¯m making a 20min short for my filmmaking class and I need a few suggestions. I enjoy a Sony handycam and this camera doesnĄ¯t have a microphone jack. Firewire card does not fit the slim overnight case of computer?
I totally understand that I obligation a firewire port to capture video. I hold been doing it next to USB with thoroughly poor quality results, and not knowing whether the problem be, computer speed, editing software, etc. After studying this forum/website, I have come to see the problem is the USB. So, I bought a firewire card, but my Dell is a slim satchel, so it wont fit. So I put it in my other computer where on earth it does fit, but I have no software on that one nor a DVD burner. So, I touch totally screwed. I know I could buy a DVD burner, but am not sure what kind of editing software I should buy. I hold Pinnacle and Roxio on the Dell, and the burner, but am not sure what is the best route. Any ideas would be appreciated.
