Another XSI or 40D query! Blah I know? I found a 40D with a 17-85 mm
I found a 40D with a 17-85 mm gear for $1215 or I could wait and get hold of the XSI with the 18-55mm tackle and also a 50mm 1.4 prime?
I dont know if it will be better to have the superior body or chalice?
Thanks for your time!
Answers:
the lenses make differences not the bodies or megapixels .contained by my opinion pick xti,10 mp beside its kit lens and 2 more lenses.a 55-200 and a 12-24 that beside 18-55 kit you can cover a nice array.from ultra wide to semi tele.also an external flash,a tripod and extra mobile and memory cards, and finally a backpack to carry them adjectives.always try to spend on elevated quality trimmings because the bodies are just 10% surrounded by photography.they are like super cars that requirement a pro driver,a ferrari or a porsche it doesn't matter, the driver is substantial.so forget both and pick canon xti. First of all, $1215 for a 40D next to the 17-85mm zoom is too cheap. Not cheap as in 'great price', but as within $300 less than any store where on earth you'd be safe to provide your credit card information. You can check store ratings at

As for which camera to bring back, if you don't absolutely have need of the extras of a 40D (weather sealing, more frames per second, etc), or the bells & whistle of the brand new XSi (live vision, more megapixels), then I suggest you acquire the XTi. The image part of these three cameras is identical... so whichever of these cameras have the best lens on it will take the best pictures.
Which lens? The Canon 17-85mm is much better than the 18-55mm paraphernalia lens. Spend the extra cash on that.
The 50mm f/1.4 is a bit of a specialty item. I own a 50mm f/1.4 myself and I love it, but I use it for less than 1% of my shots (either within very low buoyant or when I need a ridiculously shallow depth of grazing land.) I'd wait a bit and see if the zoom lens suffices. If you still want the 50mm, you can find honourable deals on used lenses. Tons of ethnic group buy them, don't use them, and sell them again. That's how I get mine.
