a Hello Lizzie :)
Beware the "gray market". Before making any purchase be absolutely constant the warranty is good surrounded by Australia. Don't rely on a verbal assurance - grasp it in writing.
Its clearly legal for an importer to buy cameras and lenses within a country with a favorable exchange rate and re-sell them at a lower price than a "Canon Authorized Importer".
The consumer think they are getting a bargain - until they obligation warranty service and are politely told: "Your camera's warranty is in the United States (or Singapore or Hong Kong, etc.) so you'll own to send it nearby. We will not work on it here." Any initial savings like lightning evaporates as you ship your camera off for service. Your camera should not travel minus you.
