Which camera produces better depiction power, Canon G9 or Nikon 40DX?
Answers:
That is easy
The Nikon D40x have a much larger sensor, so a much better quality doll can be produced. D40x = 23.7 x 15.6 mm, G9 = 7.6 x 5.7 mm
Pixel count is only portion of the image power equation .. in this casing the slight difference of 10MP to 12MP is insignificant

From Ken Rockwell
"There is little visible difference between cameras next to seemingly different ratings. For instance, a 3 MP camera pretty much looks the same as a 6 MP camera, even when blown up to 12 x 18!" I know because I've done this. Have you?" Nikon 40DX
The D40dx is a DLSR and to be honest is not in duplicate catagory as the G9.
The D40x will produce the better photo given the person taking the photo know what he or she is doing.
D40x obviouly, but depend on types of lens, unlike G9 is a point and shoot and shorten to its own small sensor. This 2 can't be compare, but G9 is more for DSLR user who use as backup camera.
