Well a cheapo camera is the Olympus FE-210, but be aware that it's pictures are HORRIBLE, you hold to spend at LEAST $220 for ANYTHING decent.
If you really want to get into photography, you really have need of to get a superior price range....hang about until you're at about the $500 gamut, and then try to find some well brought-up but used...any less than that, you're limiting yourself too much surrounded by the photography field....if it's simply impossible for you to recover your money to achieve this, I take...you can buy a cheapie and work on your perspective and that, but you're not "getting into" photography with equipment close to that. I would suggest three pious cameras in your price extent or close enough.
Canon A570 IS - this sell for around 140$ and has full brochure controls.
Canon A590 IS - sells around 155$. This is the successor of Canon A570 IS. Pretty flawless camera
Fuji S700 - It has no sign stabilization but has lot of well brought-up features. Has a 10x zoom. Price is around 160$. Has full manual controls.
All the three cameras are excellent cameras to start study photography and you cannot go wrong picking any. If it be your only camera after you can go beside the S700 as it has honourable zoom.
If you choose any of the canons, you can install CHDK and that will increase the features of the cameras still more. I would suggest to read expert reviews of these cameras at

and also try intuitively in a store.
The price I mentioned above are prices of online stores. www.pricegrabber.com is a virtuous site to compare prices.
What do you mean exactly? Do you plan on getting into photography as a hobby, or as a profession? That would trademark a big difference. Professional cameras and lenses are very pricey - thousands of dollars...however, in attendance are some digital SLR's that are lower. There is a Canon Digital Rebel XTi with 18-55mm lens tools for $599, which is pretty good. However, if you're looking to merely take pics of nearest and dearest and friends, landscapes, etc and you don't plan on making a living on it, later try the link below. I importantly recommend a Canon with Image Stabilization, which compensates for camera shake. Click the connection below for the lowest priced one from an authorized dealer. They own others listed at hand that might be more in your price span as well.
i do recomend cameras from nikon,JVC and sony. a right one will be for about 175 and over anything over that price the better. trust me
Canon... and Nikon. Have a look at this site to check out prices: http://www.deal-eh.ca/models.aspx?cat=Ph...
THE BRAND CANON IS GREAT
$120 can individual get you so much. There is a camera on special at COSTCO and it have a lot of fact that can help you near your photography. It can be fully manual, as okay as full auto. This will help you better. It is a virtuous camera, I have used it and the metaphors are really good. However, it is $150 (on mart till May 2, 2008 then it will move about up to $200) but it already comes with 2 mg SD card. Usually, you own to get the card separately. If you return with a $120 + a card about $20 for 1 mg - you'd be better bad with this camera.

Get the Fujifilm Finepix F10. It have a larger sensor (1/1.7") than most compact digital cameras (1/2.5") so it has a cleaner picture.
