this kinda confused me- The depth of field preview sets the lens to the aperture that you've elected, so that you can see the effect it's going to have surrounded by the camera's viewfinder. This is an essential feature for close-up and outlook photographers, and the convenient location makes it undemanding to use. - so what if i have it on auto-focus and don't adjust the aperture myself? how will that approaching affect the depth of field?

Nikon d80 question?
(the lense is 18-135) if I'm outside taking pics of bands on a stage and it's really sad or starting to get muddy but we're not supposed to use any flashes at all-will it be okay to still have it on the auto setting (where I don't enjoy to mess w/ the aperture or anything which i'd definately prefer (not to mess w/ any of that) or will the flash go bad since the camera is judging if I obligation it or not?-(and it prob. would since it'd be darker out) cuz I can't hold it go rotten during the performances... so do I have to turn stale the auto and adjust everything (the aperture and everything)myself in establish for the flash not to go rotten..? If so what would you say would be the best settings for that? what more or less pics in the menacing w/ only the stage desk light? how do i keep the flash from going bad? and if i'm outside taking pics of bands on stage when it's really sunny or incompletely cloudy- will it be okay if I leave it on the auto setting and not mess w/ anything? sry if i totally confused u guys!
Nikon d80, read please?
so i was thinking something like getting a nikon d80...at first i was thinking in the region of the d40 because it's cheaper, but then i thought i could a moment ago pay monthly payments right? so why not walk for the better one. anyways, i've been photography for in the region of 3 years, and more and more lately, and i'm stuck with a point and shoot right immediately. so i'm trying to find a nice dslr. i can get the d80 beside a 18-135mm for about $1200....i'd own to do monthly payments but i mean how would that work? i'd own to have my parents put it on their credit card, and i'd donate them money every month, but there is a minimum you enjoy to pay right? how would i integer out how much that would be? also if you have this camera, how do you resembling it? also how does it feel contained by your hands...i kinda hold small hands, would it be comfortable? i know i requirement to get out to a camera store and get the impression for myself but yeah. anything else you feel approaching adding, be in motion ahead. i shoot pretty much everything, my main subject is my puppy though. thankfulness!

i posted a question kinda almost it earlier, but this is a moment or two different (only 3 replies anyways :p) but anyways, so i've been into photography for a while, and hold been debating on which dslr to seize, and i've always looked-for the nikon d80, but wasn't sure if i should get it. i be going to go near the d40 because it was cheaper, but they mode i'd have the payments worked out beside my parents i could afford to get the d80, it'll merely take longer to settle off, but i capture it in finance, so i thought why not go better. so anyways, if you own the d80/have used it, how do you like it? and how is it compared to other cameras you've used? also another interrogate would be which lens would you recommend? i can get the body for around $780, so which lens do you recommend? they own it with the 18-135mm for roughly speaking $1060 with s&h (these are from b&h a short time ago incase you were wondering) or near the 18-55mm VR lens (which i'm not exactly sure what a VR lens is) for about $965 w/ s&h. but those are only just some.
Nikon d80? does the body solitary come near flash?
ugh, i'm so upset because for my sweet sixteen i could only bring one thing and the entry i chose to get be the nikon d80 and i have tons of lenses for it already so i told my dad to lately get the body simply, but i didn't even think that it won't enjoy the flash and i don't have a flash! i don't know what to do. he's going to be so angry does the flash come near the d80 body only? and except then do you know how much it would be?

Nikon Lens Decision?
I presently have a Nikon D80 next to a 18-55mm and 55 -200mm lens. I am new to photography and I be wondering if I should replace both of them with the 18-200 mm Nikon lens. Would I draw from same quality etc going to one lens. I shoot mostly portrait and plan out. Pros and cons greatly appreciated.
