My wife is traveling to Ireland next week and have been told by her IT culture that to get a Wireless Aircard for her laptop she must know ¡°the grating that Ireland operates on¡ for example 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11h.¡±Can anyone narrate me, please? Many thanks.

wrong screened-off area, but its probably 802.11g Wireless web in Ireland? That's a moment ago 2 cups without the string isn't it?
I'm not sure how the wireless networks operate within Ireland, is your Wife's Laptop already wireless enabled, and the IT people aren't suggesting an Air-time (Payment) card next to an ISP?
Most buildings that have Wireless networks, still enjoy the availability of ethernet connections.
I'd check whether your Wife's laptop is wireless enabled, or whether she does actually inevitability a PCMCIA W/LAN Card.
If that's what she actually does require, later I should think most standard cards would suffice (802.11b / 802.11g).
Hope I've be of some help.
