3G is the facts speed of the phone. The current piece of crap iPhone runs at a measly 2.5G which is equal to dial-up internet speeds. 3G is equal to DSL internet speed. The reason 3G be not in the first iPhone be due to the battery. 3G take a lot of power and Apple hadn't developed a mobile to last long ample with 3G chipsets built within.
Overall: 3G iPhone IS coming but no one know when for sure. June is the best estimate because it is the 1 year anniversary for the iPhone and Apple is holding a big event for Mac and iPhone.
