Dunno, my brother's the one who buys stuff on e-bay and i've got a really doomed to failure mobile phoe which tells u i enjoy no idea what 2 do! Good luck though Basically, the phone has be debranded, unlocked.
Unlocking a phone enables you to access features, such as more theme, games, or other accessories.
It also let you use the phone on ANY carrier that have GSM sevice - any carrier that uses SIM cards, close to AT&T or T-Mobile.
If the phone is unlocked, that said phone has voided the holder warranty. So if it messes up or something, T-Mobile for example, won't replace it because you voided the warranty. However, the company who made the phone (i.e. Sony Ericcson) will still cover it, you'd just enjoy to ship it to them & have made sure the warranty beside the company hasn't expired.
DONT GO THRU EBAY UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT UR DOING!!
There is profoundly of homework to do if you want to buy a phone off of eBay. There is a LOT more homework to do if you want to buy a phone that have been "Flashed" over to a different possessor.
It is not uncommon to find phones that be made for Cingular, that are now configured to work on T-Moble. I don¡¯t want to stir all geek on you and report to you the technologies aft it, but the term for reprogramming a phone to work on a different haulier is called "FLASH". Buying a flashed phone is completely VERY risky. You are paying for a phone that a person that may or may not know what he be doing, reprogrammed. The Cingular will NOT help you if your phone does not work.
Buying flashed phones on eBay is great for the Geeks, but a mine enclosed space for the normal tech challenge people.
Even if the auction say, "THIS PHONE GUARENTEED TO WORK", it does not mean that it will be capable of text, or bring back on the internet.
Hope this helps.
Most of these phones are reprogrammed to work underneath different carrier. They use the residence "Flashed". So, in your covering, it was previously a T-mobile phone and immediately flashed to be used with cingular. Make sure to ask the dealer questions back you buy. Hope this helps.
