AT&T sim card surrounded by sidekick..will it work? I really want a sidekick and i have AT&T.

progress to the t-mobile store and get the sidekick unlocked and afterwards it will yes. It would hold to be unlocked first. Good luck with unlocking it, though. Sidekicks are VERY concrete to unlock. T-Mobile can't even get an unlock code for Sidekicks. Even if you be to manage to unlock a Sidekick, you wouldn't know how to use ANY of the data features when using it next to a provider other than T-Mobile. Sidekicks require special background servers from Danger, Inc., which can only be access through T-Mobile's network. These settings cannot be changed.

BUT the data servers will NOT work.
this is because T-Mobile have an agreement with Danger, the company that manage the servers than delivers notes to the hiptop.
So basically, you're newly getting a sidekick for phone calls. no messaging, no internet, no aim. zilch else.
so why get it?
only get a blackberry curve.
If you want to unlock your Sidekick.?
You don't need to unlock your phone for it to work beside another carrier.
(In the overnight case of the sidekick)
1st: Insert the SIM card of the carrier you want your phone to work next to...i.e. AT&T
2nd: Turn on your phone, in the basic menu, select 'Settings' then 'SIM centre' . Change the PIN code of your SIM card(SIM pin) to 0000 0000.
3rd: Go to the menu again, select 'Settings' later 'Network options' Then select 'Scan and Select manually', let the phone scan and select your framework.
4th: If the phone doesnt do it immediately or the phone doesnt detect any networks. Just linger for 20 mins with the SIM card contained by the phone and after about 20 mins it will pick up the exchange cards of your SIM card.
Then that's it. No expensive unlocking or anything! You can now use your phone beside another carrier.
You however, might not know how to access data services on your phone, u can merely use it for texting and calls.
