(I have cingular) AT&T does. Unless you subscribe a monthly service and pay a standard duty for a limited number of messages (both received and sent count), the charge is base on the size (in kb) and number of messages. I don't subscribe to use text messages or any background service. If I send a picture or message, they charge me respectively time.

Since I rarely use the background transfer, even I transport to my gf who is in my ancestral plan (so it counts twice), the cost is still cheaper than the monthly fee for me. So, you should multiply if it is worth of getting the standard service monthly. I'd say if the facts amount and times you send combined costs more than 50% of the monthly levy, the monthly service will be cheaper since you will receive replies from your friend to use up another 50%. Go online to your account, lower than change your monthly option, you can find what is included in respectively service.
