I have a T-mobile plan; which ability I have a Tmobile SIM card and phone, but is it possible to use a different carrier phone with my Tmobile SIM card? For example, I want the RUMOR by LG (which is a Sprint phone, I suggest?) Is it possible for me to get that phone and use my sim card? OR what other brand/carrier phones can I use near my Tmobile, if any?

ALSO- if I have to 'unlock' the phone to variety this possible, what dos that mean, and how do I do it??

yes you would have to unlock it purely pick a phone u want then move about to you tube and type '' unlock --------- phone '' - the ---- is what ever phone u pick. The LG Rumor is a CDMA phone, and not a GSM phone, so you will not be able to use it next to T-Mobile service. These two types of networks use different technology to carry your mobile signal. CDMA phones do not use SIM cards. T-Mobile & AT&T use GSM, while Sprint & Verizon use CDMA.

You can use any GSM phone (a phone that take SIM cards) with your T-Mobile service, but the phone desires to be unlocked. Some phones come already unlocked, which means they can be used on another possessor (besides the one that sold it.) To unlock it, you need to request an unlock code from the inventive provider of the phone.
