Ask AT&T, they probably know more in the order of it than the people here.
i'm not sure if that works with gophones.
Changing the SIM card finances you're changing to a completely brand new account near GoPhone - when your phone registers on the network, AT&T will hold no way of knowing your antiquated account details.
You may know how to port your old number to the current account, but expect some time trying to convince AT&T to do it. As for minutes, you may be capable of do this if you kick up a tangible fuss with customer service but mostly you cannot transfer minutes between GoPhone accounts. yes all their going to do is to conveyance the sim card, so you get to hold everything.
