Also is there a course I can clear everything, in the phone. The phone is a Samsung Katalyst for T-mobile.

check the memory of your phone, is it capable of handling too much files? or similes?..
Remove the battery for 20 second and reinstall it. It is like rebooting a computer. It will be ok immediately.

you can probably pilfer the battery bad. and if that does not work you might want to try doing a master reset...
either swt of your phone for a few second before restarting it, if problem still keep on you would need to downsize unwanted stuff from your memory to increase free memory capacity. some phones really hold some problems accessing its features.. i hold a nokia 5200 and everytime i acess the ringtone memory menu it freezes.. but my sister's (same mobiles) doesnt..
