Cingular Razr next to Nextel Service? Help Please!? My friend recently get an IPhone and let me
My friend recently get an IPhone and let me enjoy her Razr. I didn't think to ask what her provider be, but when I got the phone home and looked, here is a Cingular sim card in it. I use Nextel and I want to know if I can a moment ago put my nextel SIM into the razr. I googled this and only get myself completely confused! The responses I read were discussion about locked and unlocked phones and IEN service and I am completely lost! I own no idea whether this phone is locked or unlocked. I a moment ago want to know if there is any road I will be able to use it underneath my Nextel service. The Razr doesn't have the Cingular logo on it anywhere as most phones purchased through Cingular do. I'm not sure if this money it's kind of a "generic" phone and can be used near any service? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks within advance!

You have to unlock the razr within able to use it near another phone company ...I don't know how do it exactly but I know you can buy them unlocked on ebey pretty cheep... It doesn't event if the phone is unlocked or not. Nextel's phones and network are iDEN. AT&T's phones and see are GSM. While both use sim cards, they are still two different technologies and are not compatible beside each other. Sorry, but you are stuck using any Nextel's phones, or unlocked iDEN phones such as unlocked Boost Mobile and SouthernLINC phones.
