no you cant get a virus. it is completely undisruptive. ive been mail my wii friends ever since i got my wii and nought has happen to mine. :) Hi Karen,
Your dad's not crazy, he's only exercising caution individual fully aware of the danger of computer virus, as well as the potential exposure of cyber-predators.
I haven't heard of anyone one able to "hack the Wii", to transmit a virus via Wii-mail. People hold been using their gaming consoles to communicate near other gamers for a number of years very soon, and I've never heard of a single reported crust where a virus be transmitted--with any gaming console.
I've been keeping especially current with adjectives recent developments and am 99% certain it's never happen, and don't think it's even possible.
Of course, although I can't right to be heard with proper 100% certainty that it unquestionably COULDN'T happen, I'm rather sure that if it ever did, Nintendo would be all over it, next to immediate countermeasures to protect their product, and at minimum, would put on alert their customers, if not completely disable "Wii-mailing" until the threat be removed.
And yes, I'm fairly positive Nintendo would purloin these protective steps. Failure to respond to such a threat would seriously damage, except destroy Nintendo's entire business, and they hold far too much invested.
I don't see the potential for viruses mortal much of a threat--if I was your dad, I'd be more concerned roughly speaking the identity of the person you're "Wii-mailing" if you don't know them individually.
Wouldn't verbs about it. Expecially if you know who you are mail with
Kid's Dad, he can't get a virus on the Wii by Wii-mailing his friend. The probability of that happening are... extremely, immensely, entirely, totally little.
Dad's kid, get past its sell-by date the Wii and do your chores. Dad needs some Wii alone time.
