I have one broken Xbox 360. I simply bought a new one and am going to return the broken Xbox 360 beside my store warranty. But before I return it, I want to switch the hardrives, so I don't lose my background. What I was wondering is do I hold to start my new Xbox 360 next to the new hardrive and configure the Xbox, or can I switch the hardrive earlier I even turn the Xbox on for the first time?

Just switch your harddrive into the new 360. It should work fine but don't turn on the 360 right after you place the unknown Harddrive in because the drive could acquire corrupt. That's what happened to me. Don't rush anything. Good luck!
When you acquire the new 360 a short time ago place YOUR hard drive within the new system and it will be similar to nothing ever changed. All the system info is kept on the frozen drive time date place you live everything. i think u shud only just switch it then it configures by itself...
