I used the ethernet cable that came next to the Xbox 360 and connected that to my laptop. It is saying on the Xbox that the nouns is fine but something is wrong with the IP address. Can you please relief me?

restart it a few times. or try a different port within the router.
Disconnect your connection and connect it. If your using a router turn it sour then on again.
Connect it to your laptop?? Your supposed to connect it to your router. if you set up your router with your computer walk into the program, (linksys has a simple program, and d knit too) and find the IP address go into your grating settings on your xbox and match the ip adress, it may also be that u you stipulation to unblock the port on router that enable you to access some features that are normally block for protections, next if that does not work check to see if there are any proxies set up, it so shut them down, if adjectives else fails restore your router to productive settings and as you are setting it up set it so all gaming ports are interested,
if you are not using a router and just your computer later make sure you dont hold a firewall blocking your 360 from accessing your computer for the internet
