As the concluding two answerers have stated, the top (or not here side, if your Wii is placed horizontally) flips open. Of course, you'd know this already, if you'd bothered to RTFM. I believe it's on something close to page 3?
Simple- basically open up the top of your Wii, and plug contained by the controller. I'd suggest having it within when you turn on the system & start the game.
I don't judge that makes any difference, but it's how I do it. 0_o Open the top of the Wii. You can open your top to 4 gamecube controller ports. 2 memory slots within the back tab. Lift the 1st tab and plug it contained by.
You'll still need WiiMote to click the winter sport in the home menu, but later you're good.
