Can you play beside the ps3 short an hdmi cable?
i'm trying to hook the ps3 up to an old tv.. lacking an hdmi cable.. but the screen a short time ago comes out blankis there a mode to play without it?

Dont meditate so. I have an HDMI tv and unless I plug that cord within my screen is blank too. yours might hve come set on hdmi...mine did, so find a friend near an hdtv and an hdmi cable and plug it in, afterwards go to display settings and select the colored input jacks...thats almost it...if u dont hav like any friends thn you can buy a plane ticket to alaska and spend 5 minutes here and after leave after u use my tv
oh dear..... i pity you.... these citizens aren't really giving good solutions to your problem..... but luckily i hold the answer..... you don't need an HDMI cable of late use the cables that come with the ps3 and do the following.....
set up your ps3 and hook up everything..... turn on your ps3 after turning it on press and hold the power button on the component for about 10 secs.... you will hear a series of beat..... hold it down until the menu comes up....

First sour the PS3 doesn't come with a HDMI cable. Play next to the cables it come with the PS3, the HDMI cable will single work on a HD TV I believe that is 1080p and up.
