Either the stylus is worn or the balance immensity on the tone arm is too light. The transcription could also be damaged.
Check the counterweight on the arm first. Make sure it's the proper weight for your stylus. If it's appropriate, check the record beside a good magnify glass for scratch and other damage to the grooves. If it looks ok afterwards the stylus must need to be replaced.
Most likely reason are that your stylus is damaged or your journal is damaged. Unfortunatley, playing a narrative with a dilapidated stylus can damage the dictation, so that makes it awkward to determine which. I suggest you try playing another story, but use one that is surrounded by good condition but you don't precision for much,
The stylus should be replaced about once every 500 plays. If you haven't replaced it just this minute, I suggest that you do. Little will be lost if it was due for replacement anyway. if at hand was nil wrong with the stylus, after you end up beside a spare.
If the stylus is not to blame, check that the turntable is level using a spirit even, and that nobody has be messing with the tracking counterweight.
