Will my current UK sat nav motor charger cable fit into and work in an American coup¨¦ or will I need a tentative cable/ adapter?
Answers: I can't say beside 100% accuracy, but the answer is probably no. I live surrounded by Germany and have 2 cars, one I bought within the US, so US specs, and the other I bought here, through a British importer (It's a Proton). The lighter receptacles are slightly different between the two, and my European plug contained by devices won't work in my US coup¨¦. I looked on the TomTom website, but couldn't find any info. Everything I found just said to plug it into the vehicle lighter outlet and it would work. If you are buying an American car, try it out. If it doesn't work, after you should be able to direct an American cable from the website. If you are going to the US, again, try it out there, if it doesn't work, step to any decent electronics store in attendance and buy one.
