The Garmin Nuvi series is almost other selected as best surrounded by head-head reviews. Some of it depends on which features matter most to you (blue tooth, speech naming, traffic info, etc.). CNET and Consumer Reports agreed. I would have to influence TomTom, because i have just now purchased one, and i didn't want anything fancy, but it covers North America, and it talks to you as your driving, and you hold no monthly fees to pay, and can also update it, by using a p.c I know here are more expensive models out there, but i just payed $199.99, for mine at future shop, and i first hear of that brand, because i know alot of people that drive truck for a living enjoy that brand, and they recomended it to me. I hope you find the model that best suits your needs.....Curly
garmin have the most detail and advanced routing programs, magellan is next, tomtom is down there-their map arent quite great for the US however but great for Europe.
if you want a good primary GPS Garmin Nuvi 350 is good

if you really be a sign of price isnt an issue and want all the goodies: mp3 player, multiple point routing, bluetooth, 1 yr free traffic update. etc... budge for the Garmin Nuvi 680
