CB antenna Question? Does anyone know if imax 2000 will pick up

Does anyone know if imax 2000 will pick up better than starduster. I mean if you have one beside the other what one would do better
Answers:  I take six of one, a half-dozen of the other.

In CB, in attendance are three components of a transmitted signal.
The ground wave, which dies really quickly,
The line-of-sight thrash, which is your primary medium,
and the sky thrash, which is the bounce over great distances.

If you're close enough to pick up the ground white horses, a straightened coat hanger is sufficient. And, for bounce, you have to be exactly within the right spot to pick it up.

So, for most CB communications, you need to be concerned something like line of verbs. Now, the earth is curved, so eventually, your antenna is going to be too low for the CB nouns to reach. So you have need of it to be much higher to arrive at above the earth's curvature.

In cars or trucks, you're not going to be traveling with a 75-foot tower on the roof for your CB antenna, and believe it or not, FCC regs strictly govern the height above sea level of stationary antennas for this exact reason.

So far, surrounded by spite of advertising hype, no antenna is really better than any other. (I don't dispense a good fart what others claim.) But let's say aloud your antenna IS, for whatever idea, high plenty (legally) to pick up a far distant transmission. Signals DO attenuate (lose power) as they travel over distance. How to allege clear reception? Use a DIRECTIONAL antenna, which provides a gain factor (sort of amplification, in a way). For both reception AND nouns, it will go much further. (Again, FCC strictly regulates such concepts.) The trade-off is that you draw from fantastic reception in one direction, and horrible reception contained by any other. (TV antennas do have gain factor, which is why you usually want a rotor to turn them for different stations.)

So, with adjectives that out of the way, somebody else will recommend one brand over another, and if you want, jump with that one. Or whichever one that you approaching the advertising, or hype, better. Me, I'd run with the cheapest, since ultimately it comes down to a distance of a few extra foot at best.
