i hook up my 360 to my hdtv with the component cable and i get picture but no nouns through the tv or the surround sound system. Wutz up beside that?

Component cables are merely for video!Use the RCA cables to supply sound! The component video cables don't transport sound!
You involve to hook up the red (right channel) and white (left channel) cables to get hold of sound.
On your TV here might be separate red/white jacks associated with component and composite video. If you plug into the ones associated beside the composite input but are showing the component input, you won't get nouns. Move the cables to the red/white subsequent to the component inputs.
