I have a Sony XO-D201. The productive remote (RM-S320E) is a little pricey. I wondered if a replacement all-inclusive that seems close (RM-V310) to be precise a little more sound, will work. Any suggestions? Serious replies only, please.

The RM V310 is preset to operate Sony components. There's no need to preset it if it's anyone used with a Sony component.
