Depends on your needs. Converting DC to AC sounds approaching you want to use DC as the power source, convert to AC and power some electron consuming device. Amp Hours and space available are your main concerns more than volts. A 12 volt freestyle can easily be connected serially to another 12V battery-operated to make 24 volts. It is better to convert 12Volts DC because it is to hand battery used by cars. You can other use transformers to step up the voltage once ac is already available.
Most good inverters, work next to 12Volts, being so adjectives in motor vehicle and motor homes. 24V. is common within aircraft. There is a trade-off in using these devices. Have a honourable 12V battery, beside a motor/generator running, to keep the 12V freestyle up to par. It takes deeply more power (amperage) to change 12V to 110V, than to correct 110V to 12V.. because most mobile devices are 12 vdc, you will have a substantial selection of 12v inverter systems. you didn't say aloud how much power you needed. as a practical matter, the maximum dc current that should be run through battery is about 100 amps. so a 12v system is controlled to 1kw power maximum. for 2.5 kw you need 24 volts and for 5 kw you entail a 48 volt system. 48 volt systems are common at microwave and cellular radio relay sites.
