It seems that both unusual dvd formats produce images of comparable point, so the logical choice when buying would be the cheapest player. It seems that the choice hold been made by the studios instead of inhabitants.

Just buy a PS3 they play Blue ray and soon adjectives the channels will be surrounded by HD any way and the ps3 plays games also its close to a 4 in one ...theres more accurate qualities to it and blue rays ..i dont noo if uve see the comercial but they have 5x more memory and a strong durable cover!
Plus, as BluRay become percieved as the "winner" of the format war, stores will try to offload the HD-DVD "losers" by selling them cheaper. Meanwhile, beside no competition, BluRay prices will remain higher.
The "better" format is not other the winner, even when it is visibly the superior format. Since these two formats are very comparable, the distinction is even harder to distinguish. Let's basically say it's a situation of economics and marketing. Some studios threw in next to Blu-Ray. Other studios threw in beside DVD-HD.
While price is a consideration for purchase, it's not the sole factor. At the top, Blu-Ray was outselling DVD-HD by an outstanding side-line. One reason might be that Blu-Ray have a capacity for 50 Gb as opposing DVD-HD capacity at 30 Gb when home burning become available.
But mostly, it had to do beside the interactive capability on games and computers. DVD-HD threw surrounded by with Microsoft's hot HDi technology, while Blu-Ray stayed with Sun Microsystems' proven Java platform.
