720p vs. 1080p on laptop? hey guys, I just considered necessary to know If

hey guys, I just considered necessary to know If you could tell the difference between 1080p and 720p on a 17" laptop.. I want to draw from a laptop that supports 1080p but there are 1440x900 laptops that are still nice and I would pick up about1500 by getting a 1440x900 (that still supports 720p) instead of the 1080p full supported one.
Answers:

1080P is really is a waste on a peak that size anyway so save the money.
Either road dvd playback is only 480p and not really HD (Bluray players will just go down on price) and HD shows pinch forever and a day to download, video games aren't something you usually play on a laptop anyways.
720p and 1080p are elevated resolutions for television anyway though so a peak like the one you mentioned is really 900p if you want to name it that. That is 900 horizontal lines of resolution progresiveslly scanned. Well, chances are that the 1080p laptops any have a blu-ray drive or HD-DVD drive. They'll also hold an hdmi out that you could connect to a 1080p tv and you'll be able to examine blu-ray/hd-dvd on your LCD/PLASMA, which more than likely, the others wont own this option. They might however, own a DVI or S-video out. So that's what the big difference in price necessarily has to do near. the difference is enough for videophiles to become aware of...a normal every daytime tv user, might not notice. Compare them side to side, and see if the difference is ample to compensate a $1500 difference.
