Is at hand such entry as a portable power supply? For a art project, I want to be able
For a art project, I want to be able to plug a PS2, speakers, and a Portable DVD player into a power supply for show surrounded by a public place (a park).
There are no power sockets anywhere. Is there a device I can buy - which will confer me at least 45 minutes worth of power?
Answers:
A power supply is a circuit fragment designed to convert the common, available flash voltage supplied to homes and businesses into the lower, exact DC voltages (and occasionally some other AC voltage) necessary to operate the rest of the equipment.
If your equipment is designed to run solely on a DC voltage from the power supply, after your 'portable' option is to use battery as that DC source. The number of batteries would be a function of the mandatory voltage, as well as expected duration of the battery under nouns.
A UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is nothing more than a relay which provides your AC procession voltage to your equipment, and in the event of power anticlimax, drops the relay to switch in substantial batteries to verbs supplying power for a limited time. Also, it recharge the batteries when flash power is available.
So, even with a UPS, you're put money on to.... batteries.
What you are looking for is called a UPS. An uninterruptable powel supply. They are used to protect computers from power outages. They start from $50 and the sky is the restriction.
Fo ryour purposes you might need at most minuscule a $200 one, depending on how much power you will use in that 45 min.

CAUTION! Some of these freestyle backups, even thou they use a freestyle to generate 110V it might need to be plugged surrounded by to operate for grounding purposes. So test it in need being plugged surrounded by, and if it doesnt operate return it.
If you are short on cash. Buy an inverter beside a suitable wattage for your needs. (those contained by car 12V to 110V makers) hook it up to a charged vehicle batter or preferable a deep cycle battery(car battery dont like to be completely discharged). Make a pretty box to fur the mess in :P Most of the time, empire will have or rent a small generator for these types of applications. This is one of their major uses. Set it off a ways and use an extension cord to preserve the noise down, but most of them are pretty subdued anyway.
