Can opener will not turn on. Opened panel of the Hamilton Beach for visual inspection. Motor, gears, and connections look okay. Electric cord appears okay.
Answers: It's any one of the following:
The switch that turns the motor on when you press the lever is not being actuate or is bad
The motor is discouraging
A wire going to any of the above has become detached
It's plugged into a switched outlet
The outlet surrounded by which it is plugged into is not providing power (tripped circuit breaker or tripped GFCI outlet)
You can check the motor with an Ohm meter (unplug the starter first, the motor should read low resistance)
You can check with actuation switch beside an Ohm meter. When you press the lever, the resistance across the switch should go to nought ohms (closed).
