i have set it adjectives up i have a scart going from the dvd recorder to virgin box and another from the virgin box to the TV i can survey DVDs but cant figer out how to record programs past its sell-by date the tele whe i switch the DVD recoder on it just a snowy type blind with no pic. its driving me made HELP PLEASE be trying to do it for 3 days now lol

Get a 'smart scart' connector from Maplin. This is like an extension head and you connect up to 4 items to 1 tv scart socket.
It has a trick which let you record between the items connected eg sky to dvd recorder

one way of setting it up is to scart both the virgin box and dvdrec to the tv seperatly later another scart from the scart port marked VCR on the virgin box to the AVin on your dvdrec, consequently switch both boxes on set tv to watch the dvdrec and using the dvdrec remote in that should be a button marked input or source, press this till the virgin box comes on. thats you in place to record.
another agency is to scart the virgin box into the dvdrec then from the dvdrec to the TV, you dont enjoy to scart the virgin box to the TV.
Good Luck if dvd recorder have 2 scart sockets, connect virginbox to scart 2/av2 on dvd and connect dvd scart 1/av1 to tv.
then turn it adjectives on, and switch dvd to 'av2/scart2 and there will be your picture... use the RF lead too for bbc1/itv etc...
so you can record and keep watch on other channels....
