Hi,
I use my really old stereo to connect my ipod through the red and white sockets at the put a bet on in the aux partition. How would I take the amplifier out so I can use it near my ipod and chuck the rest of the stereo away, how do I tell what bit I should hold on to and what is the amplifier?
Answers:
Is your stereo an all-in-one system or made up of separates? If it's all-in-one, just buy a separate amp.
All-in-one systems regularly have their electronics built onto one most important circuit board, so you wouldn't be able to separate the amp from the other parts, especially as they adjectives run off a single power supply.
If your system is made up of separates, the amp will almost without doubt be the box with the volume control and source selector (CD, Tuner, Aux, etc) on it.
the amp itself is big and has lots of fry sinks.
you would be best getting or building a smaller amp.

I'm sure there are investigational IC amp chips out there to use contained by place of the old LM383 timetabled. The amplifier is the one with loads of red and white sockets within the back. Also it's where on earth the speaker wires plug in and is the component with the volume control.
