Are you conversation about an overhead projector that you place a transparency on or a video projector mounted to a ceiling? Yes you can build you own. You will inevitability a 13' really good color CRT TV. A double Fresnel lens tube approx 7 to 8'' in Dia. something like.12" long and mounted to a wooden cabinet and able to slide surrounded by and out for projecting and focusing.. And you will need to amend 4 wires inside to the TV itself. You cut the black and white wires and reverse them and you do the same near the yellow and green wires you reverse them also. This style, when you turn on the set the picture is upside down and horizontally
changed left is on the right and the right side is on the not here..
All this is so when you mount the TV inside of the box and project it the picture will be right side up and the writing will be correct on the screen. If you don't do this the picture will be upside down and the writing will be backwards.If you necessitate to know more contact me. I built a nice one quite a few years ago
