Subwoofer box quiz? is there any passageway to compute the size of
is there any passageway to compute the size of box i should use. i stupidly have immediately misplaced the manual and can't come across to find it on the internet. so i don't remember what size box i have to use i calculated the approximate displacement at .23 cubic foot
Answers: First you need the Thiele-Small parameter for the subwoofer driver; the manufacturer should provide those contained by the spec sheet. Or, they aren't too hard to weigh with some supporting electronics test gear, or near a sound card and the software approaching "Speaker Workshop" and some special cables.
Then plug those numbers into a box design program approaching, say, Speaker Workshop, and design a box.
But, if the subwoofer driver is a given name brand model, you should be able to carry a copy of the data sheet beside suggested enclosures from the manufacturer's net site.
