Every time i turn up or down on the volume on my speakers it goes crazy and make really loud scratch noise, is this normal? am i turning them down the wrong means of access?

the knob on your speaker is dirty inside turn it up and down really express for about 2 mins and it should fix it
it means to be precise it either that the speakers are messed up, or it is too loud.
There is a problem next to your speakers. Really the only fix is to seize new ones. This is what happens when you draw from dirt in the volume POT or if it starts to wear out.
you can solder a hot one in place if you own one that matches the resistance of the outmoded one but its normally best to a moment ago buy new speakers.
