Can an Uploading DVD Player be Hooked to Sat Dish Receiver? I have an HD tv, but no HDMI hookup.

I have an HD tv, but no HDMI hookup. I very soon have a satellite dish beneficiary, which does have a HDMI hookup. So, if I hook up the DVD player to the dish, will my DVD movies be close by HD or not? Would like to know up to that time I plunk down $50 or more.
Answers:  Because of copy protection, you can't view DVDs via the set-top box.

Your HDTV must hold at least a DVI port. You can use an HDMI to DVI cable (and a separate audio cable) and you will be OK. If you don't hold DVI, just use component cable.
