DVD Hard Drive Recorder assist .. .. ..? I have a DVD Hard drive recorder that suddenly

I have a DVD Hard drive recorder that suddenly stopped working ¨C newly out of warranty and not worth fixing (for the price of news ones these days)

Is it possible to use the concrete drive in that, as a back-up external not easy drive for a laptop .. are they are same kind, same plugs etc ....?

Or is it only throw out material.
(this is unsurprisingly providing the hard drive didn¡¯t fail)
Answers:

im no IT guy but I would definitley look into that.

Go to your local bore (AKA computer person) and see what they can do. it may be able to work as a disk drive but I doubt it becasue it wont even work for what it is designed to do!

but by all way check it out. and if it doesnt work, well afterwards just chuck it! It's a standard computer concrete drive. You'll have to reformat it, conceivably even a low-level format (you use the program downloaded from the disk manufacturer's web site), but it would turn into a apposite (but probably small) backup disk.

May as well use it for something...
