but I have tried loads of shops and e inlet but it seems hot watches all hold batteries. Does anyone know where on earth I can buy the old fashioned loop em up yourself watch surrounded by the UK?

I have a problem near electronic watches as well, my watches are adjectives either wrist movement or snake up. Seiko still do these types and better still do the bits, there are also fob watches similar to an old pocket examine with auto meander.
Go to a good jewellers, if they bestow you a blank, well, at most minuscule you know you have found a poor jeweller.

It is a Seiko survey. It is one of those perpetual motion watches, i.e. you need to shake it for it to snake itself. No batteries.
Wife owns one of those solar watches, and those are nice too!

I would hold thought that any decent jeweller's shop would hold a fine selection of REAL watches - I commend your wishes to enjoy one ! ! !
It tend to be only elder watches that have them, or expensive watches. Depending how much you want to spend I suggest any a decent jewellers (h samuels/ernest jones entail not apply), or a second hand/vintage watch specialist. I know within are plenty on ebay, it's just finding them that's the problem.
Have you considered a "kinetic" (powered by the movements of your appendage, no battery or winding) or solar powered view? Citizen make both of these types and are strictly cheap.

I have a Seiko Kinetic see. Mechanical operation but self winding. Keeps excellent time and no messing give or take a few with battery.
