I have two towering, thin speakers which hold in the rear legs, where you would as a rule find one white hole, and on the other one a red hole, these have some sort of latch next to red and black on both!
so i am at a loss as to how to connect either one!
Please backing me understand.

If they are both the same color, look for a - or a + on any of them, i.e. the key as economically. These are connections for the speaker wire itself not plugs.
